RUGBY WORLD CUP: Japan v New Zealand

Friday night and all eyes were on the All Blacks as they took on the Brave Blossoms of Japan.

The local watering hole was 'The Kingsland'. It was packed full and noisy when I arrived with my son Nik just before kick off.

I liked they way the ads were drowned out with Kiwi music, especially after the haka and before kick off. This prime TV commercial time is up for grabs following a change in the advertising regulations governing when ads are placed when a big game is on. Most punters appear unhappy about the intrusion of ads at this time on match day.

The biggest cheer of the night was when Japan scored their try. Make no mistake. The pub crowd were virtually 100% behind the All Blacks.
