Spain 16, Uruguay 13 in Madrid
Poland 34, Germany 8 in Gdansk (ENC 1B)
Czech Republic 22, Netherlands 10 in Prague (ENC 1B)
Spain managed to overcome a determined Uruguayan side in Madrid. In a game full of errors the Spanish forwards dominated but could not always turn advantage into points.
Poland swamped a German side in appalling conditions in Gdansk. Played in muddy conditions in pouring rain, the Poles were superior in all areas in a game that rarely, because of the weather, reached any great heights.
In Prague the Czechs were too good for the Netherlands team, especially up front. The Netherlands are not destined to be relegated next year unless they are able to orchestrate a magical turn around in their fortunes.
