22.07.2011
New Zealand 60, Fiji 14 in Dunedin
Briefly
New Zealand were too good for Fiji in their opening game for 2011. Scoring 8 tries to 2, they dominated the Fijians in all areas of play.
To Fiji’s credit this was their best result against New Zealand and managed to come back to score two second-half tries.
Both sides were without key players. For New Zealand, they left out most of their Crusader contingent from the starting XV, whilst Fiji left out No.8 Sisa Koyamaibole and centre Seru Rabeni due to suspension, and lock Leone Nakarawa because his links with the Fijian army.
