PACIFIC NATIONS TEST RUGBY: Japan Is Champion

13.07.2011
Japan 24, Fiji 13 in Lautoka
Tonga 29, Samoa 19 in Lautoka

Review
Fiji shot itself in the foot in Lautoka, conceding 2 red cards and 3 yellow to finish the game with 12 players! Japan scored a try in injury time to seal the win and gain the bonus point to take the Pacific Nations Cup for the first time.

It was a fought tussle in the curtain raiser as Kurt Morath kicked Tonga to victory. The win gave Tonga a sniff of victory in the 2011 Pacific Nations Cup but Japan undid all that in the last minute of their match.

This has been a very even competition.
