Newly promoted Sweden got off to a losing start 10-22 against Ukraine in mid-October and then ran Moldova ragged 54-6 at home in a surprising result.

Andrew Diash is not available for Sweden due to club commitments in England. There are a number of young players in this Swedish squad including 18 year old newcomer Oskar Lechner, from the Swedish champion side Stockholm Exiles.

The Czech Republic began this campaign with a 3-29 loss to Poland at home and may well struggle this season. At this early stage they and Moldova look to be the weaker teams.
