Test Rugby This Weekend 14-15 February

14.02.2009
Scotland v France in Paris (6 Nations)
England v Wales in Cardiff (6 Nations)
Portugal v Georgia in Tblissi (WCQ Europe R1; ENC 1)
Romania v Germany in Heidelberg (WCQ Europe R1; ENC 1)

15.02.2009
Ireland v Italy in Rome (6 Nations)

We have another fantastic weekend of international rugby coming up. Both Scotland and France lost their opening games of the 6 Nations Tournament. A second loss will virtually eliminate that team from title contention. Both teams will be desperate to win, especially a heavily critisised French team playing in front of an unforgiving home crowd.

England is the team Wales loves to win, especially at home. England must win to keep their championship hopes alive. This will be the clash of the weekend.

Portugal travels to Georgia in what will be a difficult game for the visitors. Georgia is a handful at the best of times and on their home turf almost unbeatable.

Romania travels to Germany. The Germans showed great spirit and determination against Georgia last weekend but face yet another of the most formidible forward packs at this level.

On Sunday Ireland travel to Rome in what should be a straight forward win.

So who are the winners this weekend? Post your thoughts here.

  1. Ireland against Italy "should be a straight forward win"???? Any justification for that comment?

To answer my own question they did lose to England by 25 points, who are easily one of the worst in the division ;)

  2. Thanks for your comment Natal. Perhaps I was too liberal with my comments re Italy. I picked Italy to win against England last weekend and I would have loved them to defeat England. I love the underdog!I guess I should continue to back them but the way Ireland defeated France I just can't see Ireland being defeated by Italy Saturday.
